One person was wounded on Friday evening in what appears to be an accidental shooting at a suburban West Palm Beach gun range, authorities said.
The incident happened just after 5 p.m. at Shoot Straight at 7171 Southern Blvd., just east of Florida’s Turnpike. The person was flown by Trauma Hawk to St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach, said Capt. Albert Borroto, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue spokesman.
Information about the extent of the person’s injuries was not immediately available.
The wounded person was struck by a ricochet from someone practicing at the gun range, said Deputy Eric Davis, spokesman for the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
The shoot was not intentional, Davis said.
It was not clear whether a customer or an employee was using the practice range.
