Victim of fatal West Palm Beach accident identified

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - West Palm Beach police have identified the victim who was killed in a two-vehicle crash early Saturday morning as 31-year-old Sandy Suarez, said Capt. David Bernhardt, police spokesman.

The accident happened around 5:17 a.m. at the intersection of Okeechobee Boulevard and Jog Road, said Capt. Albert Borroto, spokesman for Palm Beach County Fire Rescue.

He said that both West Palm Beach and Palm Beach County fire rescue crews responded to the accident. When rescue crews arrived, the found two vehicles badly damaged and several occupants inside the vehicles.

Rescue crews had to use the Jaws of Life to extricate them, Borroto said.

One adult and a three-year-old child were airlifted via Trauma Hawk to St. Mary’s Medical Center. Another adult was taken to West Palm Hospital, Borroto said.

Suarez died at the scene.
