A woman caught in an early morning apartment fire in West Palm Beach has been transferred to the burn unit at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami.
The woman, who is listed in critical condition, was first rushed to St. Mary's Medical Center after rescue crews responded to the fire in the 800 block of 37th Street.
Hazmat and fire rescue crews were called to the scene around 1:15 a.m. after reports of the fire at a detached apartment.
Hazmat was called as a precaution but was not needed, West Palm Beach Fire Rescue officials say.
Police are still investigating the cause of the fire.
