WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - One person has died following a shooting incident near Okeechobee Blvd. and Parker Ave. around 8 o'clock on Saturday night.
West Palm Beach Police Chief Vince Demasi says it happened following a shots fired incident near Tamarind Ave. and 6th street.
Nearby officers were given a suspect vehicle description, found the vehicle, and followed it to Parker Ave.
That's where Demasi says the car crashed, and three people inside tried to run from the scene.
Demasi says one person died at the scene, another was injured but surrendered at the scene. A third suspect ran from the scene but was quickly taken into custody.
Police are not confirming how the suspect died.
Witnesses in the area say they heard 6 to 8 gun shots shortly after the accident.
Police say the crash happened less than half a mile away from Moon Fest in West Palm Beach.
Demasi says the shots fired was unrelated to the festival and no one was in any danger.
Police expect more updates to the investigation early next week.
