SUBURBAN WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- One person is dead following an early morning accident just outside of Palm Beach International Airport, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
Israel J. Castillo, 25, of Greenacres was in a pickup truck driving south Australian Avenue, near the airport entrance ramp, when he lost control and traveled into the media, according to investigators.
On the median he struck a traffic sign and traffic signal and then crossed James Turnage Boulevard and hit another traffic pole before coming to rest on the grass, the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said.
Castillo was ejected and died.
According to the sheriff's office alcohol appears to have played a role in the crash.
This update clarifies that the accident happened on Australian Ave., and not I-95
