Two suspects are in custody and a third suspect in the hospital after an officer-involved shooting in West Palm Beach.

Police Chief Vince Demasi said the shooting took place at about 2 p.m. in the rear parking lot of the Holiday Inn Express on Belvedere Road.

Authorities were said to be in the midst of an undercover drug investigation when the male suspects drew a gun. Gunfire was exchanged and an officer shot one of the suspects. That suspect is in critical condition at St. Mary's Medical Center.

The names of those involved have yet to be released. The officer who fired his weapon was not injured.
