WEST PALM BEACH, Fla - Fresh off a stop at a conference in Orlando, the governor of New Jersey, Chris Christie, was in West Palm Beach Thursday stumping for GOP nominee hopeful Mitt Romney.

Christie had already planned to visit West Palm Beach for a fundraiser but was asked by Romney to do a little campaigning for him while he was in the state.

Christie's visit comes at a time when Republican nominee hopeful Newt Gingrich is ahead of Romney in several polls in Florida.

"I think now Newt Gingrich is now the newest flavor of the two weeks. It's gone from Michele Bachmann to Rick Perry to Herman Cain and now we're onto Newt Gingrich. And the one steady and constant throughout the entire race has been Mitt Romney," said Christie.

When asked if he would consider running with Romney as vice president, Christie said he'd be surprised if he was even asked.
