SUBURBAN WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - The man who accidentally drove his vehicle into a lake in the 1700 block of Skees Road in suburban West Palm Beach late Saturday evening has been identified as Jacinto Sanchez Ramos, said Eric Davis, spokesman for the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.
Rescue crews responded around 8:30 p.m. to a call at 1701 Skees Road in the Twin Lakes mobile home park that a man had lost control of his vehicle and had plunged into a lake, Davis said.
Davis said 34-year-old Ramos failed to maintain control of his vehicle and drove it forward into the lake from a parked position.
Ramos was pulled from the lake by PBSO divers and taken to Wellington Regional Medical Center where he remains in critical condition.
The divers searched the lake but did not find any other person in the water, said Lee Forshner, spokesman for Palm Beach County Fire Rescue.
Toxicological testing results are pending.
