NEW YORK (CNN) -- In her latest brush with the law, police arrested actress Lindsay Lohan on Thursday after an alleged altercation at a New York nightclub.

The incident occurred about 4 a.m. at a club in Manhattan, the New York Police Department said.

Lohan may have hit another woman at the club, police said. Authorities declined to say whether she faced charges. However, the New York Daily news said Lohan was issued a desk appearance ticket and is due in court Jan. 11.
