John Goodman's release delayed as sheriff's office scrambles to watch over him

Wellington polo mogul John Goodman will be spending another night behind bars.

While Goodman has posted a $7 million bond, the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office continues to finalize myriad details to watch over him once he is released to his home at the International Polo Club Palm Beach.

As a result, he won't be released today (Thursday), sheriff's office spokeswoman Teri Barbera said.

In imposing requirements that would allow Goodman to be released from jail while he appeals his DUI manslaughter conviction, Circuit Court Judge Jeffrey Colbath ordered Goodman to hire off-duty deputies to stay within 100 feet of him around the clock. He also must wear an electronic monitoring device.

Deputies visited Goodman's home on Wednesday and met with polo club security officials as they began preparations for the around the clock surveillance to ensure Goodman doesn't flee.

Goodman was sentenced to 16 years in prison in for killing Scott Wilson, 23, who drowned in 2010 after Goodman's Bentley slammed into Wilson's Hyundai, pushing it into a canal.,
