WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.--A Career Fair will be taking place at the Hilton Palm Beach Airport Thursday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
The event is free. Those attending should come dressed professionally with resumés ready.
There are dozens of jobs available at the event, including account sales manager, buffet line cook and sales agent.
For those looking for summer jobs, it appears more companies are hiring compared to previous years.
According to CareerBuilder.com, three in ten U.S. employers plan to hire workers for the summer. That's up from 21% in 2011 and an average of 22% over the past four years.
The job site attributes the growth to stronger than expected growth in the manufacturing sector, as well as increased consumer confidence heading into vacation season.
The industries most likely to hire include manufacturing, hospitality, retail and finance.
Pay for new hires varies. Sixty-four percent of employers say they'll pay summer hires $10 or more per hour. That's up from 58% last year. At least twenty percent of employers say they'll pay more than sixteen dollars per hour.
Many employers say they may be looking for hires willing to work past the summer season. In fact, some say they're less likely to hire someone who isn't willing to work beyond summer.
