WEST PALM BEACH, FL - Residents who live near Forest Hill Boulevard and Kudza Road have lost patience with the amount of negligence they see among drivers.
Thursday there was an accident at the intersection which probably didn't register to those who passed by... but it was a wake-up call for those living nearby who have seen enough.
"It's getting very dangerous," says Daniel Gray.
The intersection is well marked and well lit with lights and crosswalks. Most motorists wouldn't suspect there's a issue here until you chat with Daniel Gray.
He's has been watching the intersection since he moved near it a year ago. In that short time he's seen several accidents including the one that hit home.
"One of the worst days of my life," says Gray.
His son was crossing to catch a bus when a driver plowed into him. He was transported to Delray Beach Medical Center's Trauma Unit for a week.
In January a drunk driver plowed into a van killing a three month old. Now, with another crash happening this week, he's had enough and wants you to hear him.
"Just be careful, pay attention and don't be in such a hurry," says Gray.
Dozens of kids use the intersection every day for pick up and drop off points. There's even a crossing guard. From a technical standpoint everything is in place to warn drivers... yet brakes still screech and cars still crash.
There's no city or county official looking into this matter, just one father who almost lost a son and doesn't want to hear about another victim at the corner of Forest Hill Boulevard and Kudza Road.
"If people are not more conscious and start taking it more serious when their behind the wheel, there's gonna be more and unfortunately it's gonna get worse," says Gray.
