MANGONIA PARK, Fla. -- A Lake Worth man was arrested after deputies said he shot two people Wednesday, Jan. 16 over what they described as "bad blood."
Palm Beach County Sheriff's deputies say Iandric Akam Stubbs, 22, walked into a Mangonia Park home last week and shot a man and his girlfriend.
When deputies arrived at the second-story apartment of 822 Tiffany Drive around 9:50 p.m., they found Rodney R. Wilkins, 32, and Kendra Wilcher, 19, with gunshot wounds.
Deputies said Stubbs shot Wilkins multiple times in a rear bedroom. Wilkins attempted to flee and ran through a second-story window in order to escape a flurry of gunshots, according to an incident report. He was struck with bullets several times.
Stubbs then walked back toward the front door and shot Wilcher in the neck as he exited, deputies said.
Both Wilkins and Wilcher were transported to St. Mary's Medical Center with life-threatening injuries that required immediate surgery.
According to deputies, an investigation revealed the incident may have been sparked by "bad blood" between a former girlfriend of Wilkins.
Stubbs was later identified by witnesses in a line-up and placed under arrest.
He is charged with attempted first-degree murder and shooting into an occupied dwelling.
