JUPITER, Fla. -- Florida Power & Light is deploying hundreds of crew members to assist with power outages expected from Hurricane Sandy.
 
Nearly a dozen workers arrived at the Jupiter service center early Monday morning for a safety briefing before hitting the road.
 
Nine FPL trucks and 14 restoration workers will aide in helping to restore power to thousands of people in the Virginia, Maryland and Washington D.C. area. 
 
FPL is sending 560 workers. Many of them plan to stay in South Carolina Monday night. Workers will head to the affected areas Tuesday morning and begin working.
