A horse trapped in a western Palm Beach County swimming pool was lifted out of the water just about 6 p.m. Tuesday, said Palm Beach County Fire Rescue Capt. Albert Borroto.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue got the call at 4:24 p.m. of a horse stuck in the pool in the 2300 block of Fawn Drive in Deer Run, near Lion Country Safari near Wellington . When they arrived, Borroto said the owner of the horse was with the animal, and that the horse was in no apparent distress or danger.

Borroto said a veterinarian came to assist in the rescue of the horse, which the owner said was 30 years old. A wrecker and sling were used to help get the horse safely out of the pool.

It was not yet known how the horse ended up in the pool, Borroto said.
