PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - While the crowd crane their necks for a view of defending champ Rory McIlroy, ten-year-old Caroline Hinterberger gets an unobstructed view eighteen times in a row.
"I just thought it was pretty cool to have the front seat in the house, you know," she said.
She is a standard bearer, keeping the gallery up to speed on McIlroy, Ernie Els and Mark Wilson, carrying their scores.
"Walking, it's not very easy walking," she said.
Walking the course with her father, Brian, it is daddy-daughter time.
"The most incredible feeling in the world to see her face when the players talk to her and to watch her interact, there's no better feeling to see," he said.
Dad helps by carrying the standard part of the time. Since they've done this three years before, they know a stiff gust of wind can turn it into a sail.
"I think it's a little heavy for her today, she will carry it on 18," Brian laughed.
