WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - A group of young students got the ride of their young lives today, and it's all thanks to their hard work on last years FCAT.

This morning, they got their high octane award. The sound of a Corvette engine is the sweet sound of success, at least for those hardworking students , scoring a 5 or higher on last spring's FCAT.

"The faces of the kids, to be cheered on for academics. That's what we're all about. Motivating kids to do the right thing," said Dr. Glenda Garrett, the Principal of Roosevelt Elementary.

For the third year in a row, "the right thing", lands students in the passenger seat of the Corvette of their choice.

"This is the first time in six years that we've had four students to make a perfect score on the writing test. A perfect six," said Garrett.

For the kids, it's an awesome chance to experience the feeling of riding in a high performance sports car. For the adults behind the wheel however, it's a glimpse into the face of innocence.

"We're in them every single day. When you see their eyes, they just light up. You can see them waving to the other kids, and you know they're just enjoying it to no end," said Elizabeth Wadsworth a member of the Tampa Bay Posse, a group of Corvette owners.

For club members, it's also a reminder that with hard work, dreams can come true.

"They see these cars coming through, revving up motors, and one day, they making the money getting that good job, education, they'll be able to afford and buy, and do the same thing for kids coming up when they're older," said Reggie Williams also of the Tampa Posse.
