PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. - A Palm Beach County judge may make some key rulings ahead of John Goodman's civil trial as early as Thursday.
At the center of the hearing is how much Goodman is worth and how much of that should be considered by a jury.
According to court documents, attorneys for Scott Wilson will ask for permission to appraise the International Polo Club of Palm Beach to determine its current value.
Attorneys are also expected to ask a judge to stop the sale of property Goodman has for sale in near Houston, Texas. According to court documents, the trust created by Goodman for his two teenage children is the owner of the property. Attorneys are expected to ask a judge to set aside the proceeds of a sale if the property is sold before the conclusion of the civil trial.
A guardian for the trust has also contested Goodman's adoption of his adult girlfriend.
Attorneys have asked the judge to set aside the adoption, according to court documents, because it would be in the best interest of Goodman's two children.
Goodman's criminal trial is scheduled to begin in early March. His civil trial is scheduled to begin in late March.
