PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. - The Palm Beach County State Attorney's Office this afternoon announced the filing of criminal charges against a Palm Beach County Sheriff's deputy for three counts of grand theft.

Sheriff's deputy Jose Antonio Claudio, 47, is charged with two counts of grand theft at a value of no more than $5,000 and one count of grand theft at a value of no more than $10,000.

According to a written release by the State Attorney's Office, Claudio "sold a mobile home that he never held a title to and collected payment for the sale." He also collected lot rents from the victim without authorization and "failed to give the checks over to management," the release stated.

Claudio faces up to five years in prison on each count.
