WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Peter Antonacci has been named Palm Beach County's new state attorney.

Antonacci, 63, of Tallahassee, has practiced law with Gray Robinson P.A. since 2000. He previously practiced with Rumberger, Kirk and Caldwell P.A. from 1997 to 2000 and Rogers Towers from 1978 to 1979.

“Pete’s distinguished legal career and experience as a prosecutor in complex cases has earned him a well-deserved reputation throughout the state,” Governor Scott said in a release. “I am confident he is well qualified to serve as State Attorney for the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit.”

The state attorney's office top position needed to be filled after Michael McAuliffe announced he was stepping down to take a job at Oxbow Carbon, a private energy company.
