WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - A funeral for Commissioner Bill Moss was held Sunday morning.
Friends and family gathered at the Mizell-Faville-Zern Funeral Home, in downtown West Palm Beach.
Moss passed away Wednesday of a heart attack at the age of 67, accordng to Mayor Jeri Muoio.
He is being remembered as a champion of the south side of West Palm Beach who focused much of his work on tourism and education.
He had been elected to represent District 5 in 2000 and was re-elected for a seventh time earlier this month.
Tuesday, April 3, a public memorial event will take place in the City Hall Courtyard at 9 a.m.
Muoio says Moss's successor will be appointed within the next 30 days.
