WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - A recent rise in gas prices in California will have no impact on prices in Florida, according to economists at Northwood University.
Professor George Stamas said the high prices that are averaging near $5.00 in California are because of a limited supply at refineries that solely supply California.
"What's going on in California is going to stay in California. What's going on with prices there is confined to refinery problems in the delivery of gasoline, said Stamas.
Stamas said he actually expects prices to decrease in Florida in the next few months, estimating as high as 20-cent drop in prices.
