WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- An 8-vehicle crash in West Palm Beach caused a major traffic jam this morning on Interstate 95.
The crash happened in the northbound lanes near the Okeechobee Boulevard exit and involved two semi-trucks, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
FHP officials do not know the exact cause of the crash, but described it as a chain reaction. The crash also caused two other minor wrecks.
At 7:50 a.m., two lanes were allowing vehicles. By 8:45, all lanes were open to traffic.
Traffic was temporarily backed up for about a mile.
West Palm Beach Fire Rescue crews responded to the scene.
Dispatchers reported nine patients, but that number was not confirmed. No one was killed, FHP says.
