WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - A 15-year-old girl was shot in the stomach Tuesday afternoon in West Palm Beach, according to West Palm Beach Police.

West Palm Beach Police said the shooter, possibly a 15-year-old boy, shot the girl at 1368 11th Street around 12:25 p.m.

She was rushed to St. Mary's Medical Center.

"The subject fled that did the shooting and we transported the victim to St. Mary's Emergency Room where she underwent an operation she seems to be doing well now it's not life threatening," said WPB Emergency Manager Alan Ortman.

Police say they do know the name of the suspected gunman but are not releasing his name at this time.
