WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - This week there are rumors that Fidel Castro, the former Cuban leader, had a massive stroke.
Castro has not been seen publicly for months. Social media rumors say Castro's health is quickly declining.
A Venezuelan doctor told El Nuevo Herald that Castro suffered a cerebral hemorrhage and his state of health is so precarious that he has trouble feeding, speaking and recognizing people. You can read the report in the Miami Herald here http://hrld.us/PF5DkZ .
Jorge Goyanes, who is involved in the Cuban American community in Palm Beach County shared his thoughts. "One of the reasons why my family is here is because of Castro. My family was in the Batista government and in the Army, and those people had to leave immediately."
Oscar Garcia, a worker at Don Ramon Restaurant on Dixie Highway, has family members living in Cuba. He said, "I think that Fidel Castro is right now very sick but he is not dead right now. I think he is making a manipulation of the Cuban people."
Earlier this week CNN reported that Castro has not been seen since publicly since March when he met with Pope Benedict XVI during the pontiff's visit to Cuba.
Relatives of Castro have denied the rumors that's he's in poor health.
