Fatality accident at Beeline Highway and Jog Road involves three tractor trucks and smaller vehicle

The driver of a semi died after causing a chain reaction accident on the Beeline Highway Tuesday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said Danny F. Major, 45, of Okeechobee failed to slow and crashed into a box truck, two semis, a pickup truck and two other vehicles which were stopped or slowing down in the westbound lanes of the Beeline Highway approaching an entrance ramp to the Florida Turnpike.

Major died at the scene.

Westbound Beeline Highway was closed for about 5 and a half hours before reopening at 3:30 p.m.

The Florida Highway Patrol says the events leading up to the crash remain under investigation.
