A fire in a West Palm Beach apartment complex has left at least one family, and possibly two without a home on Independence day, fire officials report.
Firefighters were called to the Saddlebrook Apartments about 9:30 a.m.
It appears the fire began on a mattress on a first floor unit. The fire was quickly contained to the first floor, but not before the unit above suffered smoke damage, said West Palm Beach Fire Battalion Chief Michael Curry.
No residents were injured, he said.
