WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- A local charity raised $400 Sunday to give to the 4 year-old victim of a drive-by shooting in West Palm Beach just over a week ago.
Paws 2 Help, an animal charity group, surprised Krystal Black with a gift card to Toys R Us.
Black was the victim of a drive-by shooting in West Palm Beach just over a week ago. Black's family says she was inside her grandparents' home when a stray bullet went through a window and through her cheek.
Black had to undergo emergency surgery and is still recovering. Black's mom, Tawana Smith-Black, says the little girl still has to undergo another surgical procedure to get a piece of glass out of her eye.
Black went on a shopping spree with her mother, sisters and young cousin.
The family has to handle a lot of medical bills because of the incident. Smith-Black said those that would like to help can donate money at any Wells Fargo bank in the area.
