WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - A West Palm Beach gun shop owner is behind bars accused of selling guns illegally. Federal agents, along with help from the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office deputies raided The Gun Outlet on Military Trail on Friday. David Milstead, 53, led off in handcuffs from the gun shop he owns. Milstead is suspected of selling guns illegally.
Friends of Milstead do not believe the allegations.
"It's an honest business," said Alonzor Wilson. "I'm sure if something is going on, it's something that he don't know about," he said.
The shop is shut down, at least for now. ATF agents hauled out bins of evidence including computer equipment. Former CIA Officer Brad Robinson is now a partner at The Millennium Group . He said it is no surprise that this gun trafficking case was kept under wraps for six months.
"They want to make it so solid, so much evidence that who's ever being accused can't say 'I didn't know' or 'It wasn't me' or something like that," said Robinson. "They try to look at every angle."
An ATF spokesperson said that charges for Milstead are forthcoming.
