WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- - Work resumed on Monday for summer employees at the Dreyfoos School of the Arts just days after two school custodians were found shot dead.
Both Ted Orama and Christopher Marshall were found dead inside a maintenance room on Wednesday.
Custodian Javier Burgos, who has been missing since his co-workers were found dead, remains a "person of interest" and is missing.
"Decent worker, quiet. Stayed to himself. Didn't speak too much," said Dirk McKay, who is custodian at the Dreyfoos School of the Arts.
McKay, who has worked at the school for 17 years, said when Burgos did speak, it was usually in the form of an argument and usually with his boss Ted Orama.
"Nothing like fists drawn or had to break two people up for fighting or anything of that sort. But there were a few problems. Nothing major though that would escalate to this," said McKay.
Arguments between the two were usually in Spanish said McKay and he could not understand what they were saying. McKay also said nothing seemed out of place in the days leading up to the double homicide.
"You want to hope he wasn't (involved), but it just doesn't really look good," said McKay.
As the West Palm Beach Police continue to track down Burgos, the school and employees must now try to carry on with the loss of two of their own.
"It still feels like a bad dream and it's just going to take time for everybody to get over it," said McKay.
McKay also said keys are not given to all employees. He said only supervisors and the night shift have keys. McKay said Burgos would not have had a set to gain access to the school on his own.
