WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Many people felt home on the range in Downtown West Palm Thursday.

Downtown West Palm Beach had the look of the 'Old West' when cowboys and cowgirls from the Florida Cattlemen's Association maneuvered several dozen heads through city streets.

The herd is from the Seminole Tribe of Florida.

The drive kicked off a month-long event entitled "Cowboys on the Waterfront." The event features a living western village from the 1870s as well as a photography exhibit.

According to the city of West Palm Beach the state has a largely invisible, rich cowboy heritage. Florida has six of the top 10 producing ranches in the United States.

According to the Florida Cattlemen's Association the state's cattle industry is one of the 15 largest in the United States.
