WEST PALM BEACH, Fl. - Twelve people have been arrested on charges that they used fraudulent social security numbers to get jobs with a West Palm Beach landscaping company.
Investigators from the Florida Department of Financial Services Fraud Division conducted an investigation of Botanica Landscaping.
The investigation found that a large number of workers there were using fraudulent social security numbers that were either fictitious or assigned by the US Social Security Administration to another person.
Investigators say that they checked with Social Security and the ID numbers used by the workers did not match their records.
All twelve of the suspects were booked into the Palm Beach County jail and charged with using false IDs and identity theft.
