SUBURBAN WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Agents of the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) executed a search warrant at a gun shop in suburban West Palm Beach before noon Friday and arrested the store's owner.
Agents spent several hours at the Gun Outlet at 1489 Military Trail, just south of Okeechobee Boulevard.
Several containers and bags of evidence, as well as a computer were carried away.
An ATF spokesperson said shop owner David Milstead is in custody and faces firearms violations. The ATF says he is suspected of supplying guns to the illegal market.
The ATF said its raid is part of an ongoing criminal investigation into a firearms trafficking case that has been in the works since January. ATF says the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office has been assisting them.
"I know he wouldn't do anything dishonest, and it kind of surprised me that this was going on, I came by to see him and saw all this stuff and was wondering what happened. And hopefully things will work out in his favor and work out well," said Milstead's friend Alonzor Wilson.
