Amber alert canceled for 14-year-old Sumter County girl

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - UPDATE:

According to Sumter County Sheriff’s Office dispatcher,  Karla Giovanni Carvjal has been found.

EARLIER STORY:

An Amber Alert was issued Wednesday evening for an adolescent girl feared to have been abducted earlier in the day from a school bus stop, according to a dispatcher from Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

Karla Giovanni Carvjal, 14, was last seen at the intersection of County Road 230 and County Road 205C in Wildwood. Her books were found on the ground by the school bus top, authorities said.

Carvjal was wearing blue jeans and a blue Florida Gators jacket with fur around the hood and black converse shoes. She is 5-feet 3-inches tall and about 120 pounds. She has brown hair and eyes.

Authorities believe she may be traveling in a gray four-door car.

Anyone with information concerning her whereabouts is asked to contact the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office at 352-793-2621 or the FDLE Missing Endangered Persons Information Clearinghouse at 1 -888-FL MISSING (1-888-356-4774).
