WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - The high amount of rain that poured down Friday created quite a mess for many people caught out in the wet weather.

Some streets were blocked in West Palm Beach and even some businesses were halted by the flooding.

Drivers spent most of Friday afternoon splashing through puddles that resembled lakes more than they did roads and parking lots.

Some drivers stood by and waited for the rain to stop, while others took the chance and tried pulling their car out of their submerged parking spots.

On Dixie Highway, the hassle went beyond just flooded roads.

Some businesses were forced to close doors while workers struggled to keep the water from creeping in on the floor.

"The water went not only over the sidewalk, but it was up over our front steps. Just waves of it coming up over the front door. Every time a car would go by, we'd get hit with a wave," said Bill Wallace, owner of Clubhouse Pub.

Wallace eventually managed to reopen and said his business only sustained minor damage.
