Boy Scout advisor faces child porn charges

JUPITER, FL -- A patient at the Jupiter Pavilion Convalescent Center located on 1230 South Old Dixie Hwy. is facing six counts of child pornography charges.

Bruce Garwood, 75, was reported to have the pornographic photographs involving children on his personal laptop computer, according to the police report.

Garwood admitted to police that he volunteers in Tequesta with the Indian Hitchiti Dancers, a dance program that both young girls and boys participate in.

The police affidavit also states that a group of Boy Scouts come to the assisted living facility each week to take Garwood, who is physically handicapped and needs a wheelchair, to dance practices.

The investigation is ongoing.
