WELLINGTON, Fla. - A Wellington man was arrested Sunday afternoon for punching his 86-year-old father in the eye.

Anthony J. Bernius, 45, is being held at the Palm Beach County Jail in lieu of $3,000 bond. He is facing the charge of battery on a person 65 year of age or older.

Bernius was arrested at 4:45 p.m. Sunday when a Palm Beach County Sheriff's deputy was dispatched to the family's home in the 3000 block of Verdmont Lane in Wellington.

Bernius' father told the responding deputy that Anthony Bernius had "punched him in the eye and pushed him down," according to the probable cause affidavit.

Bernius' mother told the deputy that her son is "becoming more violent." Bernius' father was treated for cuts to his right eye, which was bleeding, according to the affidavit.
