WELLINGTON, Fla. - Veterans were honored with a parade and observances Friday morning in Wellington.
The parade included the honor guard from Palm Beach County's Sheriff's Office, members of Palm Beach County's Fire Rescue team, as well as a group of young Boy Scouts.
They marched from the Wellington Community Center to the Wellington Veterans Memorial.
Wellington Council members, state representatives and Senators spoke at the ceremony.
All paid tribute to veterans.
"When I was actually over there I kind of felt like it was more like a team, like, me and my crew, like we had each other’s back, and now that I get back and see the support that we didn't see when we was over there (so you feel the support today?) Exactly," said Jean LaFortune, a Navy veteran.
The memorial will be playing a list of names for the next 24 hours of men and women from the area who are serving or have served the United States.
