WELLINGTON, Fla. -- Former Polo Park Middle School principal Scott Blake was scheduled to appear in court Tuesday following charges of obscene communication and traveling to meet a minor to commit an unlawful sex act.
However his hearing was canceled before its 11:30 a.m. scheduled start.
Blake was arrested by Boynton Beach police Thursday, July 26, after he drove to Boynton Beach to meet what he thought was a 15-year-old boy he had communicated with online but was actually an undercover agent, according to an arrest report.
Blake, of Palm Beach Gardens, is being held in the Palm Beach County Jail on $500,000 bond.
Tuesday's hearing, which was scheduled at Palm Beach County's main courthouse, was to decide if Blake's bond would be reduced.
The Palm Beach County School Board last week chose Poinciana Elementary School Principal Ann Clark as Blake's replacement to act as principal of the Wellington middle school.
Superintendent Wayne Gent said last week that Blake would be reassigned until the legal charges against him were settled. After the charges are settled, Gent said, the district will decide on disciplinary action.
Clark, 51, has been the principal at Poinciana Elementary School for two years and has worked for the school district since 1983. She previously served as principal at Lantana Middle School.
