The new attorneys for International Polo Club founder John Goodman want answers. And they are turning to a Palm Beach County judge for help.
They want the Palm Beach County State Attorney's Office to tell them why John Goodman's 2007 Bentley -- a key piece of evidence in his DUI manslaughter trial -- was released from evidence. The other vehicle involved in the case was also released from evidence, according to a court document filed by the defense.
The missing evidence was first reported in an online report. bitly: bit.ly/15pAhBx
Defense attorney Roy Black argued the Bentley malfunctioned the night it crashed into the car driven by Scott Wilson.
A judge overturned Goodman's conviction after allegations of juror misconduct surfaced.
Attorneys want his retrial moved out of Palm Beach County.
In a motion to the court, "the defense would thus like to know who made the decision to release the vehicles from evidence, when this decision was made, and why."
