ROYAL PALM BEACH, Fla. - Trash collectors are teaming up with the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office to fight crime in the Village of Royal Palm Beach.
They're acting as some extra eyes on the streets and keeping tabs on what's going on.
"As garbagemen, service collectors here in the community, our guys are fixtures, people don't always pay attention to them because they're running around, doing their thing, picking up the trash, handling recycling, and our guys now are going to start looking for things that are unusual," says David Unversaw, the Regional General Manager for Republic Services.
The Village will soon be training its employees to watch for suspicious activity as well.
