ROYAL PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Many people who live in Royal Palm Beach along Sandpiper Avenue are without water Friday due to a water main break in the neighborhood.
The line broke sometime shortly after midnight Thursday.
When Palm Beach County water crews arrived, water was gushing out of the ground and onto the street.
It took crews several hours to dig up the ground with a backhoe to get to the source of the problem.
Dispatchers with the company said the water line should be fixed by the time residents get home Friday afternoon.
A boil water notice will go in effect once the line is repaired.
