ROYAL PALM BEACH, Fla. - Some waited until the last minute to vote, literally 6:59 p.m.
"I am excited," Anita Santaella shouted after voting. "I made it. I made it! I was driving like a maniac and I didn't get a ticket!"
Still dressed in her Publix work uniform Santaella was the last voter inside Royal Palm Beach's Christ Fellowship Church.
"I was so frustrated thinking I wasn't going to make it on time, but thank God, Publix came through and they let me leave (work)," she said.
Her near miss, stems from going to the wrong precinct this morning.
"I was a little frustrated," she said. "But I made it!"
Others weren't so lucky.
"I ran as fast as I could and unfortunately it was too late," Albert Kish said.
Seconds too late, Kish and his daughter were turned away at the door.
In turn Kish's daughter missed out on casting her first ballot.
"She missed an opportunity that's a lifetime opportunity, but there's always a next time," Kish said.
Next time, they'll be thinking of this time and so will Santaella.
"Maybe I'll ask for the day off next time," Santaella added.
