Car break-ins on the rise at daycare centers

ROYAL PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Palm Beach County Sheriff's deputies are warning parents about a rash of car burglaries happening right outside daycare centers.

Detectives met Friday in Royal Palm Beach, near Kreative Kids Club.

Deputies said parents think the walk from the car to the daycare center is quick, and will likely leave valuables inside. That's a big mistake, according to investigators.

In the last three weeks, detectives have looked into a rash of car burglaries, that happen in the few minutes those parents are away from their cars.

Their advice: take everything with you, don't put it in the trunk and lock the car.
