RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. — One person was arrested after a brawl broke out Sunday night when a group of youths returned from partying on Peanut Island, according to the Riviera Beach Police Department.
Rose Anne Brown, a Riviera Beach police spokeswoman, now says only a 17-year-old was given a notice to appear. A second person could be charged with affray.
One person was hospitalized.
The fight took place around 6 p.m. behind Yachtsman's Landing Apartments. It wasn't known how many people were involved.
While there is a police-enforced "no alcohol" policy on Peanut Island, one water taxi crew member said the no-drinking rule wasn't enforced.
Brown said Peanut Island isn't the Riviera police department's jurisdiction.
"The marina is our jurisdiction," Brown said. "It becomes our problem when they exit the water taxi in the city."
No one from the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office was available to comment on if the no-drinking policy was enforced Sunday night.
