RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. - The city council will decide today whether to borrow $25.6 million for construction projects intended to stimulate redevelopment around the marina.
Uses of the money would include building a new Newcomb Hall community center, street improvements along Broadway and in Riviera Beach Heights, building a parking garage near the marina and doing utility work along 13th Street.
The council, sitting as the CRA board, is scheduled to vote on the 15-year loan from BB&T Corp. during a meeting set or 6:30 p.m. in the second-floor council chambers at the city's municipal complex, 600 W. Blue Heron Blvd.
The board is scheduled to reconvene as the city council for a special meeting following the CRA meeting to approve modifications to two other loans affected by the BB&T loan.
