RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. - As funeral plans are finalized, a Riviera Beach father shares the pain of losing his son.
Leroy Nelson's son, Javon Nelson, was killed last week in the worst murder suicide in Palm Beach County history.
Nelson last talked with his son the day before he was murdered.
He was looking forward to signing him up for little league football, before young Javon's step father cut his life short.
Nelson said, "It was just so hard on my heart and tough on my mind because knowing when i get back to town my son would be gone."
Dell also killed Nelson's two step brothers and step sister, along with their mother Natasha Whyte-Dell.
There was a history of domestic violence with the couple.
Nelson says he didn't think dell was capable of murder, but knew something was wrong.
"He always thought she was seeing someone else, the next door neighbor, but she wasn't doing anything wrong. She was just happy trying to get an education and finish college," said Nelson.
While Neslon copes with his loss he's reflecting on his son's life.
He loved sports and just spending time with dad.
Nelson said, "He was always respectful, yes mam, no man and whatever they asked of him he would always do it if it's right. Just remember him as a good kid and he always wanted to be something great."
The funeral for Natasha Whyte-Dell and her children will be held at Christ Fellowship Church in Palm Beach Gardens.
That's this Saturday morning at 10.
Leroy Nelson has set up a bank account in Javon's name.
He hopes to eventually use the money to help out families in his same situation in the future.
You can donate at any Bank of America.
The account number for donations is 898033787764.
