RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. - Newcomb Hall in Riviera Beach will be temporarily closed following the fatal “Sweet 16” party shooting that took place last weekend, according to William Jiles, Public Relations Manager for the City of Riviera Beach.
The shooting, which occurred last Saturday night, left two people dead and six others wounded.
The decision to suspend activities at Newcomb Hall was made in a meeting on Thursday.
According to city officials, renters will not lose their deposits for pre-scheduled events.
Other arrangements are set to be made for them, or the city will refund their deposit.
All other scheduled activities for the city of Riviera Beach will be held as usual.
This decision only affects the Newcomb Hall facility.
The length of suspension has not yet been decided.
