PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. -- Construction work on parts of Federal Highway in Palm Beach County could be slowing down your morning commute.
The Florida Department of Transportation is working on a couple of projects along Federal Highway from Riviera Beach to Jupiter.
If any of that stretch of road is part of your morning commute, you've probably already noticed back-ups, slow-downs and tie-ups on your drive to work.
US 1, or Broadway, narrows down to just one lane in each direction for part of the stretch from 13th Street to Silver Beach Road in Riviera Beach. That work won't be done until the winter of 2014.
The other chunk of work, a seven mile stretch from North Palm Beach to Jupiter, is slated to be done this spring.
These projects include re-paving, resurfacing, drainage work, signage, landscaping, milling and upgrades to traffic signals.
The projects are expected to continue to slow down traffic until completion.
