RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. -- Two people were rushed to the hospital after a crash this morning at the intersection of Military Trail and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Riviera Beach.

A woman driving a white Nissan was traveling northbound on Military Trail when witnesses saw her run a red light, according to Riviera Beach Police spokeswoman Rose Anne Brown.

A semi traveling eastbound on Beeline Highway then smashed into the Nissan and crossed over into the westbound lanes, clipping several other vehicles.

The woman was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. The tractor trailer driver was hospitalized with minor injuries, Brown said.

Beeline Highway at Military Trail was shut down in both directions. It has since reopened.

The accident is near the VA Medical Center West Palm Beach and Kindred Hospital the Palm Beaches.
